Developing a Plan
My relationship with my clients starts with a meeting to gather information
on their long-term financial goals and expectations. We cover the
investment, insurance, tax and estate planning aspects of each
client's situation.
Scope of Advice
I strive to serve my clients' in the best way I can. With over 30
years experience in the field, I'm more than confident with coordinating
the activities of existing professional advisors such as tax accountants,
estate planners and financial specialists. If required, I can also
tap into my own network of professional advisors.
Investment Philosophy
My investment philosophy is essentially conservative in nature. Operating
within each client's risk profile, an investment approach is structured
using state of the art research on portfolio design to achieve long-term
growth with the lowest possible level of risk along the way. As a result,
both my clients and I sleep soundly at night.
Performance Reporting
All clients recieve a periodic summary of performance. The
Information is presented as clearly as possible. In addition, I'm always
willing and available to meet one-on-one with a client to review
or discuss the format of a report to minimize confusion or misunderstanding
about how to read the results.
Tax Planning
Tax planning and minimization is a key component
of the financial plan for most people. Strategies such as income splitting,
prudent use of leverage and family trusts need to be evaluated. I am
not a tax specialist or accountant, but I do understand these strategies
and can certainly help to explain what the experts are saying.
Ongoing Monitoring
Each client's account is monitored on an ongoing basis to take advantage
of opportunities created by changing circumstances. In addition, each
plan is reviewed annually and appropriate adjustments made; where it
makes sense, this is tied in with a face to face meeting to talk about
the client's portfolio.
Accessibility
I make myself as accessible to clients as possible. I try to personally
return all telephone calls the same business day.
Regular Communication
I believe that my best client is the one who
is fully informed. Every two months, all my clients receive a newsletter
and telephone call to talk about any questions or issues they may have.
